ENGINEERING CHALLENGE
The sub $2000 market has a lot of great headphones. What if we made a headphone for that space? Would it be disruptive? Could it change everything? Let's bring our signature house sound to a new look at a new budget. Engineers thrive with a challenge to solve, and we were instantly motivated by this prospect.
Goal to achieve
EFFICIENCY without compromising sound or comfort. We always strive to make the best possible in every category, and while JOAL still does that, we can make more efficient choices becoming more accessible to more people. Over 10 years of headphone experience, and over 30 in making cables. We are perfectly equipped for this project.

Such a small piece makes such a big difference. Compared to machining each in aluminum, producing a plastic part is much faster to do many at a time. We took this opportunity to design in a satisfying tactile click to the mechanism.

Decades of experience in both making cables and sourcing manufacturing materials, we were able to partner with a skilled craftsman to produce a premium feeling cable using our own custom design ends providing all the strain relief we've come to appreciate.

FINISHING
Switching from a premium ceramic coating to powder coat increases our production volume by alleviating surface prep and curing times. We hand selected the finest powders to create a pleasing surface texture and a black color that pops in all light levels.

COMPATIBLE
By maintaining parts compatibility with our Diana line of products, we are able to maintain production without impacting assembly. And of course, all of our Diana accessories are compatible with JOAL. You must give the add-on Diana ear pads a try!

MACHINING
We CNC machine all of our parts in house. A more efficient design leads to more parts being made and better optimization increasing the life of the parts. With a little creativity, a cool wave pattern emerged.
